The wisdom worker age

Self help and management Guru  Stephen Covey said in his lecture that the next age (after the current knowledge worker age) is going to be the wisdom worker age.

Stephen Covey has a remarkable insight into human nature and his lessons related to effective management of work as well as personal life have deeply inspired millions of readers over the past few decades.

Who is a wisdom worker ? A person who uses his wisdom for work (as opposed to knowledge) should be regarded as a wisdom worker.

Wisdom is a very broad term and can carry several meanings. Each of those meanings is in itself an area of endless research.

The first point that comes to my mind is : what do we need those workers for ?  Most of the people think that you require intelligent workers in order to invent new technology, to fulfill  the dream of mankind to  have a trouble free living  full of pleasures and happiness.

Are we seeking the impossible ?

When the steam engine was invented and the Britishers started setting up factories, it was thought that the problems related to food, clothing, shelter and life had been solved to a great extent. Next when the semiconductor technology appeared and computers were invented, human kind engaged themselves in hitech innovation , but still the problems of inadequacy faced by the human civilization didn't end.

Whether the human beings reach the moon or the sun, their problems are not coming to an end. So in a way , whether you have knowledge workers or  wisdom workers, the problems faced by man kind :  hunger, disease, death : will remain unsolved.

So what is the big deal about a wisdom worker or a knowledge worker ?

Somewhere, the fundamental problems related to birth-death-disease and old age are forgotten. Human kind have this tendency to look for patch fixes :quick solutions to problems that cannot be tackled that way.

So, although the economy might grow, the culture might flourish, the nations might become superpowers : still the human beings are bound to grapple with the basic issues such as death, disease, old age and sufferings!  How wonderful!

We need spiritual human beings, or  in other terms, human beings need to become inclined for spiritual living.  No knowledge, no wisdom..nothing is required.  We should make an impact at the most fundamental level : the spirit (soul).

Human beings are bewildered by things that are much less important than their own existence!Unfortunately the current civilization focusses itself on the development of all things external to the nature of the human soul : as a result the human beings find themselves more and more overpowered by the external nature.

I want to work for the development of a spiritual civilization :  a society where human beings know that they are individual spirit souls, the particle of consciousness  separated from the Supreme Being.

With spiritual consciousness, the problems related to inadequacy of food, clothing, fuel, shelter etc will get resolved automatically.

No need for the knowledge worker, no need for the wisdom worker. Human kind only needs to focus on serving Krishna and all their dreams will get fulfilled by Krishna's mercy!

This might sound like an outrageous idea to persons with low intelligence, who cannot think beyond the mundane senses.

The modern system of atheistic education is the cause of all our social ills. If we introduce the system of Krishna bhakti centric education for all children, the world will become like vaikuntha.
